I've been trying to be more intentional with our decor, holding out for pieces that we really love, or that have meaning.

The newest addition to our gallery wall is this customized map of Toronto from Mapiful (neatntiny readers get 10% off with promo code neatntiny10 until December 15th!).

I'm a gallery wall fanatic; they allow you to display special pieces amidst decorative ones and can be adapted to evolve with your style. Our Toronto Mapiful map is our newest addition! Right below it is a contribution from my son (see this post for how to display kids' art at home).

Mapiful allows you to create a custom map of any city or region in the world.

There are several different styles to choose from that allow for further customization of zoom, colour, size and layout.

If you've read my post on home illustration as artwork, you'll know that I have a thing for personalized art!

Our map is zoomed in to include our current home, our first place together, where we first met, where we got married, and my son's birthplace!

Though it would have been fun to commemorate a trip to Paris, Manila or Patagonia, we chose Toronto.

Considering we live here, you might call this an uninspired choice. But, it's where all of the important things happened for us and the people we love the most live here.

I'm a little biased (just a little...), but I think Toronto may just be the greatest city in the world! No matter where we travel, I'm always glad to return home. This map serves as a reminder of how lucky we are to live here.

In addition to commemorating a location with a special place in your heart (pun intended), Mapiful maps make for unique and thoughtful gifts.

Imagine a custom map of your hometown, zoomed into your old stomping grounds, for a friend or family member who's moved away (you can even have it shipped directly to them!). Or, perhaps, a map of the city in which you met your better half as an anniversary gift?

A map of your kid's birthplace or first trip would make for a meaningful piece in their bedroom!

Below are some of my favourite Mapiful maps from all over the world, that demonstrate how great these look in any room and amongst a variety of decor styles!

This framed map looks lovely leaned up against a wall, amidst plants. (Image via: Mapiful.)

A map in the 'graphite' colour option lends drama to this stylish, traditional home. (Image via: thecultivatedhome.)

Perfectly styled atop this mid-century modern console table. (Image via: My Scandinavian Home.)

Can't choose just one special location to mapify? Pick two or make an entire wall of these! They work particularly well with clean lines and modern decor. (Image via: thedesignchaser.)

Keep your shelfie game strong: a small, framed map is the perfect size to perch on a shelf. Love the colours used in this one. (Image via: the_cornellranch.)

Another coloured map. This one adds flare to a high-end closet. (Image via: flaviana.boni.)

Right at home in this moody, Scandinavian home's gallery wall. (Image via: theobert_pot.)

I love this coloured map amidst the pastels of this laidback, boho bedroom. (Images via: reserve_home.)

Casually hung on a picture hook above this cheery workspace. (Image via: maggie_epiphaniou.)

It also works well in this darker, more formal work space! (Image via: ollieandsebshaus.)

Adding global sophistication to this kids' room. This San Diego family's map commemorates their adopted son's birthplace. (Image via: michelle_janeen.)

There you have it! Some clever ways to use Mapiful maps as art at home!

Don't forget to use the promo code: neatntiny10 for 10% off your custom map at Mapiful until December 15th! They currently offer free shipping to the U.S. and Canada and these would make awesome Christmas gifts!
