Don't feel like decluttering the whole house? No problem! Just pick and choose:

WEEK 1

WEEK 2

Day 10: Catch Up

Day 11: Powder Room

Day 12: Living Room

WEEK 3

Day 15: Laundry Room

Day 16: Linen Closet

Day 17: Home Office

Day 18: Bathroom(s)

Today we're organizing the kids' closets!

If you haven't already, please subscribe for a free, printable 30-Day Spring Tidying Challenge schedule!

1. Empty the kids' closets and drawers. If your kids are old enough, get their help. They may even get a kick out of dumping everything out of their drawers!

2. Clean. Sweep or vacuum the closet floor.

3. Decide which clothes to keep.

- Get rid of any outgrown clothes.

- Get rid of any clothes they haven't worn in the past year. Make sure to get their input before putting things in the discard pile!

4. Divide everything from your kids' closets/drawers into four groups/bins.

i) belongs in the closet/drawers

ii) belongs elsewhere in the house

iii) fit to donate/sell used

iv) garbage/recycling

5. Return the things you've decided to keep in the closets/drawers and organize neatly.

We use a hanging shoe organizer and hanging shelves to add more folded clothing storage:

He has limited drawer storage. We keep socks and underwear here:

For more on how our son's closet is organized, check out this post:

Shop Kids' Room Organization

Hanging Clothing Organizer ($12.99, Amazon.com).

Clear Hanging Shoe Organizer ($7.97, Amazon.com). Not just for shoes!

6. Redistribute the items that belong elsewhere in the home.

7. Donate. Take the boxes designated as 'to sell/donate' and put them somewhere out of sight, but accessible (i.e. mudroom or basement). You'll continue to add to these each day for the rest of the month, with the casualties of each day's tidying task. At the end of the month, you can make a trip (or several) to your local donation bank and/or go on an online selling spree.

8. Dispose of and/or recycle items from the designated garbage/recycling bins.

That's it for day 19! Check back again tomorrow, when we tackle the rest of the kids' room! Don't forget to follow my One Room Challenge makeover!
