Last week's post was on how we converted a small bedroom in our home into a DIY Walk-In Closet.

This week, I thought I'd expand on that topic and share my favourite space-saving closet organizers and closet organization ideas from our home and the rest of the internet!

1. Drawer Organizers

Does your underwear drawer look like the aftermath of a Victoria's Secret clearance sale? Mine did, until I got drawer organizers to arrange my undergarments into separate compartments. You'll have to take my word for it, since posting a picture of my actual underwear online is probably over-sharing...

If you're looking for a little less compartmentalization, these drawer organizers allow for more organizational freedom. They're great for storing things like folded shirts, so that they stand on end, à la Marie Kondo:

2. Drawer Dividers

Adjustable drawer dividers make keeping your drawers tidy a lot easier. And, they're so versatile, you can use them in just about any room in the house!

You may recall me going on about these in my post on kitchen drawer organization:

Our kitchen drawer dividers are from IKEA, but you can get adjustable drawer dividers that fit most drawers (both in the kitchen and the bedroom closet):

These adjustable, grid-style drawer dividers can be cut to size to fit most drawers; they can then be assembled to create compartments of varying sizes:

3. Shelf Dividers

If you're looking for a way to store folded clothes on open shelving so that they don't devolve into a disorderly pile, shelf dividers are the way to go!

4. Hanging Organizers

If you're short on drawer space and want to incorporate some storage for folded clothes in your closet, hanging organizers are a great solution. You might recall, we use these in my son's closet to store his folded pants and shorts.

If your hanging closet space is limited, these space-saving hangers can hold up to 10 shirts vertically, on one hanger:

Here's a similar solution for pants that allows you to easily remove just one pair at a time, and comes with a non-slip coating to prevent pants from sliding off:

And, for skirts:

If you need more hanging space in your single rod closet, this closet extender/hanging closet rod will double your storage space:

This wall-mounted folding rack is a great solution for temporary clothing storage and display.

You can use it to set out your clothes for the next day or week (a massive time saver in the mornings)!

Or, it can be used to hang clothes that are destined for the dry cleaner.

5. Accessory Organizers

We maximize closet space by using space-saving hanging organizers for our belts and ties.

If you're looking for something more high-tech (this may just be the sort of gimmick you need to get your husband to put his ties back where they belong): Primode Motorized Tie Rack ($29.99).

Looking for a space-saving solution for jewelry storage? This dual-sided jewelry organizer can be hung on a hanger and occupies only one shirt's width in your closet:

Need something more extensive? This over-the-door jewelry cabinet can either be wall-mounted or hung on your closet door. The door also serves as a full-length mirror.

6. Shoe Organizers

If you can spare some room on the closet floor, this is a great place for shoe racks. I'm a big fan of storing as many shoes as possible in our walk-in closet. Better there than piling up in the front entry! Keep an eye out for next week's post on how to maintain a clutter-free entryway!

If floor space isn't available, think vertically! This shoe organizer can be hung in your closet and doesn't take up a lot of space.

And, why not take advantage of that unused space on the inside of the closet door?

In our home, we use over-the-door shoe organizers for everything other than shoes!

In my son's room, it used to be easy-access onesie storage and now houses his undershirts and thermal underwear:
